Commitment and standard
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at conformance level AA and the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG).
- All functions can be fully operated with a keyboard; the current focus is visible.
- Content is structured semantically (headings, landmarks, lists, tables) and labelled for screen readers.
- Colour contrast is at least 4.5:1 for body text; information is never conveyed through colour alone.
- The interface scales up to 200% zoom and respects the system setting “Reduce motion”.
- Forms provide clear error messages and guidance directly next to the field.
Personal display settings
Signed-in users can save their preferences in the Accessibility Center These settings apply across all devices:
- larger text in two sizes
- high contrast
- reduced animations
- underlined links and enhanced focus indicators
- easy-to-read font with wider character spacing
- enable captions by default and choose their size
These settings complement the accessibility-oriented design and do not override your device’s system settings.
Known limitations
- Some older course videos do not yet have complete captions. New content is published only with captions.
- In practical lab environments (remote desktop, terminal), accessibility depends on the software used and is not always within our control.
- PDF documents supplied by third parties are gradually being replaced with accessible versions.
